Accidental roaming
Accidental roaming is when you connect to a network in another destination without meaning to. This can happen if you live or travel close to a coastline – where you can connect to a maritime network – or an international border.
Connecting to another network may mean you pay higher roaming charges. To stop this from happening, switch off data roaming in your device settings.

To use data abroad, you must have data roaming switched on in your device settings. If it’s switched off, you’ll only be able to call and text.
Some networks abroad are switching off their 2G and 3G coverage, so having a 4G device is more than ever.
To stay connected while you’re abroad, you’ll need a 4G device with 4G calling or VoLTE enabled in your settings.

Remember to set your Spend Cap to an amount that covers any Go Roam passes, daily roaming charges, or Data Passports you may need.
